Family and Community Support Service (FACS)
The Family and Community Support Service is funded by the Department of Communities to provide culturally responsive counselling, support, advocacy and referrals to individuals, couples and families experiencing difficulties settling into Australian society.
FACS assists individuals and families with some of the following issues:
- Family Relationships/Issues
- Social Isolation
- Acculturation and settlement stress
- Physical Health/Medical Issues
- Mental Health Issues (for example anxiety or depression)
- Parenting
- Financial Issues
- Grief and Loss
- Life Skills and Coping Issues
- Personal Development and Self Esteem Issues
The service works collaboratively with other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for clients and to ensure they are connected to community support networks and other resources. FACS also runs community workshops throughout the year often in collaboration with other agencies such as Relationships Australia and Parenting WA.
