Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) program involves volunteers visiting older people to provide friendship and companionship. This program is a free service funded by the Australian Government

How it Works
At MSCWA, ACVVS program connects culturally and linguistically diverse older people with volunteers from similar cultural backgrounds.
These volunteers provide regular companionship and social support to help reduce loneliness and social isolation.
The program also helps older people maintain their cultural connections and promotes their overall wellbeing.
Support is available to older people living in residential aged care or receiving Support at Home services.
MSCWA service delivery
MSCWA has matched culturally & linguistically diverse (CALD) recipients with culturally appropriate volunteers across 25 communities.
The total number of visits delivered are more than 5600 over the past three years since the program was funded.
During the initial three years of funding, MSCWA established partnerships with more than 8 nursing homes across the Perth metropolitan area.
